两个 t 碰在一起：只读一次
Gemination: /t/ + /t/
前一个词以 t 结尾、后一个词以 t 开头，母语者不会读两遍 t，而是把两个 t 合成一个稍微有力一点的 t：it takes 读成 i-takes。
规则
When there's a vowel sound before the /t/ and the next word also begins with /t/, the two /t/ sounds join together to create one slightly stronger /t/.
It takes two to tango（一个巴掌拍不响）这句话里有五个 t，可你仔细听，it 和 takes 之间只有一个 t：舌头抵住上牙龈，停一下，再一次放开，就把两个 t 都交代了。
这种两个相同的音碰头、合成一个的现象叫 gemination（Tim 也叫它 twinning，双胞胎）。get to、right to、cheat to、overnight train 都是。

It takes two to tango.
一个巴掌拍不响。
It took him 20 years to get to the top.
他花了 20 年才爬到顶。
You don't have to cheat to pass the test.
不用作弊也能通过考试。
You were right to be upset.

We took the overnight train to Venice.
我们坐夜车去了威尼斯。
Alex 提示：中文母语的同学常把两个 t 都读出来，变成 get-te-to，一下子就像在一个字一个字地念。练法：读 get 时舌头抵住上牙龈不要放，停半拍，直接从这个位置读出 to。
