have to 怎么读
How do fluent speakers say 'have to'?
表示「必须、不得不」的 have to,母语者读成 /hæftə/,听上去像 hafta:have 的 /v/ 变成 /f/,to 的元音弱化成 /ə/。
规则
When we use the verb 'have' in its modal form, 'have to', meaning an obligation, the /v/ at the end of the word changes to /f/. Also, the vowel sound in the word 'to' changes to schwa. So 'have to' becomes /hæftə/.
同样的道理:has to 读 /hæstə/(hasta),had to 读 /hættə/,used to 读 /juːstə/。
