he / his / her：h 不见了

If the word 'he' comes at the beginning of a sentence or clause, the /h/ sound is pronounced. But if it comes in the middle of a sentence or clause and after a consonant, the /h/ sound is not usually pronounced. This also happens with him, his and her.

看位置：He looks like he's had an accident 里有两个 he。第一个在句首，h 照常发音；第二个在句子中间、前面是 like 的 /k/，h 就省掉了，成了 like-e's。

h 一省，前面的辅音就直接连到后面的元音上（第 1 课的辅音接元音）：let him 读成 le-tim，offered her 读成 offe-der。所以这些词常常「听不见」。
