Likes and Dislikes
雅思口语 Part 1 几乎每个话题都会问 Do you like …?。 I like … / I don't like …

01
get carried away
Amelia got carried away when she started talking about the book.
Sorry, I got a bit carried away.
Whenever someone mentions football, I tend to get carried away and talk for ages.
02
be passionate about
Joe is passionate about swimming.
比 like very much 强得多,带着投入和热情。
I'm really passionate about photography, especially taking pictures of old buildings.
03
quite like sb. / sth.
Jacob quite likes going to the cinema.
I quite like cooking at weekends, although I wouldn't call myself a good cook.
04
be indifferent to sth.
In the past they were indifferent to conservation issues.
写作里描述公众态度很好用:the public is largely indifferent to …;口语里也可以说 I'm fairly indifferent to fashion.
Many young people are not indifferent to politics; they simply follow it on social media rather than on TV.
05
can't stand sb. / sth.
I can't stand people dropping litter.
I can't stand crowded places, so I usually go shopping on weekday mornings.
Alex 提示:回答 Do you like …? 时,先用一个程度词表明态度(passionate about / quite like / indifferent to / can't stand),再给一个具体原因或例子。这样一句话就有了层次,比单说 Yes, I like it 好得多。
