自然话题在雅思口语里常以「描述一个美丽的地方」「你喜欢城市还是乡村」的形式出现。与其一直说 beautiful、quiet、busy，不如换成英国人描述风景的说法：「宁静」「城市喧嚣」「连绵起伏的山丘」「令人震撼」，再加一个很英式的「会养花」。这一课挑 5 个，最后一句都是你在考试里能直接用的。

tranquil and serene
宁静、安详的书中例句
It's a gorgeous hotel in a tranquil and serene rural setting.
这家酒店很漂亮，坐落在一片宁静的乡村环境里。
tranquil 和 serene 都是「安宁、平静」，连在一起用加强语气，描述乡村、湖边、寺庙都合适，比 quiet 有画面感得多。setting 指「周围的环境」。

My grandparents live in a small village with a tranquil and serene atmosphere, which is perfect for clearing my head.
我爷爷奶奶住在一个宁静的小村子里，那里最适合让我放空脑袋。

（城市的）喧嚣忙碌书中例句
James wanted a little cottage far away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
詹姆斯想要一间远离城市喧嚣的小屋。
hustle and bustle 指人来人往、忙忙碌碌的热闹，可褒可贬。对比城乡生活时几乎必用：escape (from) the hustle and bustle of the city。
雅思里这样用
At weekends, many city dwellers drive to the countryside to escape the hustle and bustle of urban life.
周末，很多城里人开车去乡下，躲开城市的喧嚣。

gentle rolling hills
平缓起伏的山丘书中例句
England has an abundance of gentle rolling hills.
英格兰到处都是平缓起伏的小山丘。
rolling 形容山丘像波浪一样连绵起伏，gentle 表示坡度平缓。这是描述英国乡村风景的经典说法，Part 2 描述一个美丽的地方时用上，非常英式。an abundance of 是「大量」的书面说法。

The drive from the city to the lake takes you through gentle rolling hills covered in tea plantations.
从城里开车去湖边，一路经过长满茶园、平缓起伏的山丘。

awe-inspiring
令人震撼的；让人肃然起敬的书中例句
They explored the awe-inspiring mountains and abundant wildlife there.
他们去探索了那里壮观的群山和丰富的野生动物。
awe 是「敬畏」，awe-inspiring 就是壮观到让人心生敬畏，比 beautiful、amazing 更有分量。描述高山、峡谷、古代建筑时都能用。
雅思里这样用
Standing at the foot of the snow mountain was an awe-inspiring experience that made me feel tiny.
站在雪山脚下真是震撼，让我觉得自己特别渺小。

have green fingers
很会养花种草书中例句
Toby's got green fingers. Plants in his backyard are flourishing.
托比很会侍弄花草，他后院的植物长得特别旺。
这是很典型的英式说法，美国人一般说 have a green thumb。被问到 Do you like gardening? 或 Do you keep plants? 时，可以说 I'm afraid I don't have green fingers，自然又带点幽默。
雅思里这样用
My mum definitely has green fingers; our balcony is full of flowers all year round.
我妈妈特别会养花，我们家阳台一年四季都开满了花。
